SUMMARY:Veer Wine Project + ICL - All December!
DESCRIPTION:All December long\, 10% of Scavenger Rosé sales at Veer Wine Project will be donated to the Idaho Conservation League. Crafted from rescued small lots and blended into notes of citrus\, strawberry\, grapefruit\, and orange\, this rosé is a perfect addition to your holiday plans. \nIf you’re new to Veer Wine Project\, Scavenger is one of the winery’s most unique and customer-favorite labels—and the story behind it is as creative as the blend itself. The name “Scavenger” reflects the winemaking philosophy: during production\, small amounts of beautifully fermented wines often end up in lots too small to bottle on their own. Instead of letting these expressive wines get lost\, Veer Wine Project “scavenges” them\, saving and blending them into something intentional\, delicious\, and full of character. The result is a wine made from rescued potential—thoughtfully assembled from different vineyard sites\, varietals\, and fermentation styles. It’s a blend built from creativity\, sustainability\, and craftsmanship. \nConsider purchasing a bottle of Scavenger Rosé at Veer Wine Project for delicious wine\, and to support ICL! Visit their space at 4338 W Chinden in Garden City\, ID. Or consider getting bottles shipped to your door! Go to https://www.veerwineproject.com to order.

SUMMARY:Box Canyon Clean Up - Wendell\, ID
DESCRIPTION:Join Idaho Conservation League for a day of trash pickup in Box Canyon State Park! \nThis spectacularly beautiful spring-fed waterway gets heavy use through the hot summer months as families escape to its crystal-clear\, cold ponds. \nJoin ICL for an end-of-season trash sweep to help keep this magical area pristine for years still to come. ICL and volunteers will meet at the trailhead\, hike in together\, and pick up trash in the area. Following the cleanup\, we will stop for snacks (or lunch\, depending on timing) and hear from ICL’s Central Idaho Director\, Josh Johnson\, about the current state of the beloved Snake River. Space is limited\, so RSVP today to secure your spot! \nPlease note that this trail is rugged! We will descend from the canyon rim\, which is steep and technical. The hike is approximately 1.5 miles out-and-back\, or can be done as a 2.8-mile loop. This hike has a total elevation gain/drop of roughly 300 feet. A moderate level of physical fitness is required for this hike due to the nature of the terrain. \nREGISTER HERE!

SUMMARY:The Last Catch: From Millions to Memories - Virtual
DESCRIPTION:The Last Catch: Conversations on the Columbia and Snake Rivers is a dynamic speaker series exploring the future of our rivers and the vital role they play in the ecology\, economy\, and culture of the Northwest. \nThis month’s episode\, From Millions to Memories: Stories of Abundant Salmon and Orca\, explores what it means to have gone from once-abundant salmon runs to the precarious state we face today—and what it will take to bring them back. We will also discuss the impact of this loss on numerous species downstream throughout the Pacific Northwest\, such as the beloved Southern Resident orcas. \nOur moderator\, Marcus Harrison Green\, Seattle Stranger columnist and Founder of the South Seattle Emerald\, will guide a conversation reflecting on abundance\, loss\, renewal and hope\, with voices from across the region. \nSpeakers include: \n\nTim Ballew\, fisherman and former Lummi Nation Chairman\nDr. Deborah Giles\, whale scientist at SeaDoc Society\nJay Hesse\, Fish Biologist\, Nez Perce Tribe\nKeyen Singer\, youth fisherman

SUMMARY:A Decade of Wilderness: Boulder-White Clouds Hiking Series - Ketchum\, ID
DESCRIPTION:Ten years ago this summer\, the Boulder-White Clouds were permanently protected – a historic achievement that took the efforts of ICL and its supporters decades to make a reality. In celebration of a decade of protections for this special place\, we’d like to invite you to join ICL on a summer hiking series throughout the protected areas.  \nSpace is very limited due to Wilderness regulations (maximum group size is 12 people)\, so please sign up in advance and note that the start time is the time we will be meeting at the listed trailhead. \nWednesday\, September 10th 8:30am – 3:30pm North Fork of the Bigwood River \nThis beautiful valley follows the North Fork of the Bigwood River as it flows off the Boulder Divide and down the slopes of some of the largest mountains in the area. The trail is out-and-back with moderate vertical gain (about 1\,000 ft) over about 6 miles. We’ll head into the heart of the Hemingway-Boulders Wilderness\, and you’ll feel the true “out there” feelings that define Wilderness. \nMeeting Place: North Fork Wood River trailhead (the end of the road past the SNRA headquarters)\, about 30 minutes from Ketchum – four-wheel drive vehicle recommended – carpools available if you need a ride. \nREGISTER HERE!

SUMMARY:Kilgore Gold Exploration Community Site Tour & Lunch - Dubois\, ID
DESCRIPTION:Join ICL’s partners at the Clean Kilgore Coalition for a free lunch and tour of the Kilgore Gold Exploration Site\, where a toxic open-pit\, heap-leach\, cyanide gold mine threatens the Centennial Mountains and the Eastern Snake Plain Aquifer. \nThe Centennial Mountains and surrounding foothills have long played host to family farms and ranches\, lush meadows\, clear streams\, and iconic wildlife species. Now\, a financially unstable foreign mining company plans to methodically dismantle the forested hillsides in search of gold\, threatening to mar the landscape forever and pollute this quiet swath of public land with toxic mining waste.  \nCome join the Clean Kilgore Coalition to explore what makes Kilgore special\, and why it’s no place for an open-pit\, heap-leach cyanide gold mine. \nREGISTER HERE!
