SUMMARY:Idaho Mining: Past\, Present and Future
DESCRIPTION:Cobalt\, gold\, molybdenum\, phosphate\, silver\, zinc\, copper and more –  Idaho has a long and colorful history of mining. Unfortunately\, mining’s legacy in Idaho also includes lead poisoning\, acid mine drainage\, and arsenic pollution. Join ICL staff and special guest historian Tom Blanchard to hear about the history of mining in Idaho\, current environmental issues related to mining in the state and what the future holds. You’ll learn about Idaho’s unique geologic character\, how mining booms and busts shaped Idaho’s history\, what’s ahead for mining in the state\, and how you can get involved in current mining issues.  \nICL works to ensure that mining activities don’t threaten human health\, special places or Idaho’s clean water.  We scrutinize proposed new mines\, improving those that are acceptable and fighting those that are not in Idaho’s best interests. \nGrab a cocktail\, some snacks\, and virtually join us along with other ICL members and supporters from around the state for this interactive update! We look forward to hearing from you about the issues that matter to you. See you soon! \nPre-register today and we’ll send you a reminder the day before the event: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_wzVI8Qk3RDCnViZQD2FjLQ
